Guiding Principles & Strategies
Blue Planet activities will be focused on adding value to the Triple Bottom Line of ‘People, Planet and Prosperity’, thereby creating an entity that can truly achieve Net Positive Impact.
With the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals serving as a guiding light, all our commercial activities have a positive environmental and social impact on not only individuals, but also on communities across Asia.
Blue Planet will positively contribute to with direct and indirect impact.
We’re more than just a recycling company

Direct Contribution
SDG 1: No Poverty
Blue Planet will directly create thousands of jobs where employees are empowered, respected and provided with financial inclusion. Through this, we aim to reduce vulnerability and protect the dignity of individuals and communities working in the waste sector in the countries of our operation.

Indirect Contribution
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
According to the United Nations, there are 821 million people estimated to be chronically undernourished as of 2017, often due to environmental degradation, drought and biodiversity loss. We will attempt to reduce any environmental damage and prevent pollution of the natural resources through our operations which can indirectly help increase food security in the regions we operate.

Direct Contribution
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
All employees of Blue Planet will be given access to medical care for themselves and their families along with education to avoid needless suffering arising from poor waste management practices.

Indirect Contribution
SDG 4: Quality Education
Blue Planet aims to increase knowledge of the communities it operates in by helping build capacity through skill development and creating awareness on responsible waste management practices. We understand that achieving inclusive and quality education for all is one of the most effective ways to achieve the SDGs.

Direct Contribution
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Through its policies of inclusive employment and medical inclusion, Blue Planet aims to support women, who are often one of the most severely affected groups when waste is handled irresponsibly. Blue Planet believes that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

Direct Contribution
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
All our sanitation operations will be treated to achieving ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ and thereby directly reduce pollution and contamination to land, water and air. This is done by increasing water efficiency and improving water management in all our operations.

Direct Contribution
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
We understand that access to energy is critical, be it for education, security, climate change, food production or increasing incomes. Blue Planet will generate and distribute renewable energy with a particular emphasis on the alleviation of energy depravation.

Direct Contribution
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
Blue Planet will create thousands of jobs within the waste management sector that provide regular, respectable, formalised, non-exploitative employment. By embracing the self-empowerment model, we aim to provide financial, medical and educational inclusion which leads to long-term economic benefit.

Direct Contribution
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Blue Planet will introduce innovative, integrated approaches to the entire waste management sector in all the region it operates. We believe our platform, which is driven by technological innovation, has the ability to change the current fragmented practices across waste cycle for the better.

Direct Contribution
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
Through it’s operations, Blue Planet will provide widespread employment with a special view to uplift lower skill workers, and promote economic inclusion of all regardless of sex, race or ethnicity.

Direct Contribution
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
A sustainable society can only be achieved by significantly altering the way we build and manage our urban spaces. Our operations within cities, towns, villages and small rural communities will only provide solutions that are truly sustainable in nature and thereby contribute effectively towards our Triple Bottom Line aspirations of being Net Positive Impact enterprise.

Direct Contribution
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
We will ensure responsible consumption and production by facilitating total recovery and upcycling approached to discarded resources. In doing so, Blue Planet will provide an alternate to the current infrastructure and markets, to bring about a profound transformation of business practices along the value chain of waste.

Indirect Contribution
SDG 13: Climate Action
We believe that climate change is real an it is affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. Through Blue Planet’s approach towards waste management, resource recovery, renewable energy generation and upcycling practices, the company will have a profound impact on the overall Climate Change Agenda.

Direct Contribution
SDG 14: Life Below Water
Marine pollution, majority of which comes from land-based sources in developing countries, is reaching alarming levels with an average of 13,000 pieces of plastic waste in every square kilometre of ocean. Blue Planet’s technologies aim to solve this by processing and upcycling waste into useful resources and therefore discouraging leakage into rivers and seas.

Direct Contribution
SDG 15: Life on Land
Forests and the biodiversity they support are critical to ensure a healthy ecosystems for humans and other wildlife. By recycling and upcycling waste, Blue Planet indirectly helps in reducing the dependency on virgin materials like plastics and precious metals, thereby reducing need for extensive mining and extraction which is a significant reason for increasing rate of deforestation in the world.
