Singapore, January 2019 – OSK Ventures International Berhad (“OSKVI”), a Malaysia-based private equity company, announces its strategic investment in Blue Planet Environmental Solutions (“BluePlanet”), a regional waste management company headquartered in Singapore focusing on technology-driven end-to-end waste solutions.
This investment in waste management solutions marks OSKVI’s return into the sustainability segment. This partnership with Blue Planet is in line with the private equity company’s vision of undertaking the challenge of embedding sustainability across its business operations.
Blue planet has vertically integrated offerings across the waste management value chain. It acquires innovative technologies to manage both organic and inorganic waste streams that could be tailored to the region’s specific requirements. This includes solutions to convert of thin-film plastic waste into commercial use diesel and processing municipal grade organic waste into compost and biogas.
The company provides a wide spectrum of waste management solutions across the lifecycle of waste, from collection to resource recovery and up-cycling, in order to achieve its ‘zero waste to landfill’ policy.
Blue Planet also operates in India through its various subsidiaries and has selectively acquired various technologies in each step of waste management including collection and transportation, segregation and processing to achieve high resource recovery along the waste management cycle.
